First Name : Sean
When did you start Playing Tradewars : Fall of 1996
How Long have you Played Tradewars : Probably around 3-4 years of solid playing
Alias Used in the Game : Maverick . Occasionally Satan or Death
How I Choose my Alias : It’s obviously taken from the movie TOP GUN, in which the character Maverick was the fighter jock who believed he could beat anyone, anywhere. I also like that the definition of the word “maverick” is: an independent-minded person, someone who resists adherence to a group. I like to believe I make my decisions based on what I feel is right, not necessarily what I believe would be the "popular" choice.
Are You a Member of any Group in TW : I am the founder of The Black Knights
Helpers / Programs Used : I used to write my own scripts for Telemate, but since Zoc came around I have been converted to it.
Awards / Recognition Received Known for his great sst/sdt scripts in telemate .... Also legendary in the TW Community for his Cashing abilities and his dedication to the game .... Also him and Zoobar thought of the BOTE
Rankings of Maverick Guardian's Rankings : Leader(3) , Killer(3) , Invader(3) , Evil(3) and Builder(2)
Epicenter's Rankings : 5 out of 5 Stars
Best Game / Tournament you ever played in : There have been so many games, and nearly every one was great in some respect. If I had to pick one game I'd have to say it was a game at FEN way back when. At the game’s start, it was basically only Artemis and me because we were just going to mess around, but a couple weeks into the game my ego got the best of me and I decided I wanted to win. I looked around for possible additions to the corp., and there was only one other corp. playing which wasn't full and was showing great potential, so Art and I thought we would ask them if they would be interested in joining up. It was only a day or two later when Lord Chaos joined up and brought his crew in; neither of us had much at the time. A few weeks later we picked up a solo blue, Kujo, who was re-learning the game. We went on to win that game against the "Beverly Killbillies" (among others), and it inspired LC to write a short story detailing our efforts. I don't know if it was the "best" game, but it was a blast, and it was also the first time I played with LC or Kujo.
Tournaments
( Major / Minor )
I played in BOTE '98, which we won, HHT ‘99, which we won, and WTC ‘00, which we will win. I also started the USO '99 as a favor to Acid, but due to circumstances beyond my control ( going to NO for Mardi Gras) I quit after a week or two and never played again.
Best Corp. you were ever  been On : That's a tough call. I've been fortunate enough to be on a lot of great corps in the past. We had a good team for HHT that would win most games, but BOTE '98 (Monday, Hosem, Cruncher, Budweiser, and Macahan) was a great team with everyone in their prime. My current corp. in WTC (LC, Artemis, Ripclaw, Rawhead Rex and Laststarfighter) is also a great corp. Talent wise it would be tough to choose, but mistake wise we played better in BOTE.
How you Play Good : It depends on the game but usually on the rare occasions I play blue, I take care of evils first and hunt second. I pillage and plunder other people’s planets. I usually kill only evils, unless the shot is too good to pass up; the game is about resources, and trading fighters 1:1 with other goods gets you nowhere. The number one priority is evils sst/sdt'ing. Don't let them do it, you win -- if they try to do it, make them pay.
How you Play Evil : I want to be the best, I try to take everything one step further than the next guy. Anyone evil can SST/SDT. Making slightly more than everyone else is what separates average from great. That's what I go for -- do whatever it takes to get the edge.
BBS/Servers that you like the Most: Stardock (bbs.paul.com) was great, but the one I had the most fun on was Keynet. We had a whole lot of fun there with different edits, and those of us that played there were, at least to me, like family.
Your feelings on being a player or CEO in games I was always CEO before. I told the blues where to hunt, made sure everyone knew what they were doing, and led invasions. Lately I just make the money and let the blues take care of it. I play with people who know what they are doing, so there aren't really any CEO's, so to speak. We each have our job, and if you mess up you'll hear about it from 5 other people.
What influenced your style of play or helped you become the great player that you are There have been several. Mega Hertze is without a doubt the most influential. That guy is always two steps ahead of you, and just when you think you have him he pulls another trick out of the bag. He's not the fastest, nor usually the most powerful, but he's definitely the most clever foe I have faced. I've learned a lot from many, many games against him. Eleqtrizi’t has also influenced me a lot. I originally put The Black Knights together as a permanent corp. as an answer to DE! They always played together, and to compete I knew I would have to get a group which would do the same.
Trick or Suggestion can you give to help other TW players: 80% of TW is just playing your turns wisely and not wasting them. After something goes wrong, figure out what you could have done different, and be prepared for next time. Also, don't talk smack to someone whose ship is bigger than yours unless you are prepared to reap the consequences.
Your funniest TW moment or Disaster : The moment I remember most brings up Mega Hertze again. I invaded him late one night on Keynet, and I didn't want to have to spend the fighters to take his L5 door planets. Ingeniously, I decided I would load my L4 H (maxed ore) with 200K of my fighters and sit on it in his door. I overloaded the door, and sat on my planet so he wouldn't know I was there. Well, about 10 minutes before extern ran my ISP dumped me. Once I finally got back online, I end up in a pod because I couldn’t take the sector shots from his planets when I reentered, having dumped my fighters on the planet to give it the extra defense. My pod warped out, and right about then the board went down for extern. When I reconnected, I found I didn't have enough turns to make it home in a pod, but I was only a couple hops from dock, so I went and bought a shell of an ISS with twarp, and as I'm doing that Mega logs on. I'm warping out to find an ore selling port for twarp as he warps in. He chases me, I run like hell, and in the end he kills me and my pod. At that point, I finally get a chance to read the logs to see if I was successful in colliding his planets or not, and I find out that my L4 with 200K fighters that I had intended to warp out right before extern collided with one of the junk planets. That’s a pretty serious shock at 5:30 in the morning, but I hear Mega got a pretty good chuckle out of it.
Anything else you might want to add : Oh, and I’d like to add that LC is the coolest mofo you could party in NO with. I got that bastard so drunk at Mardi Gras he nearly pissed himself to sleep every night. And in terms of TW, he’s my wingman, my second in command, the Spock to my Kirk, and further, he’s one of the best evils that’s ever played the game. Art and Kujo, well they are my brothers, even though they were pab’s who didn’t go to NO to party with the BK’s as we did Bourbon Street, I love you guys.

If you have a Tournament that you want promoted or listed ... please send me as much info about the tournament as you can ... Thank You
