First Name : Gerry
When did you start Playing Tradewars : Spring '94
How Long have you Played Tradewars : 3 years then just off and on as the mood suits me
Alias Used in the Game : Black Slayer, Peregrine Falcon, Juzam Djinn, Preying Mantis,
Marvin the Martian, Mirage, Black Knight
How I Choose my Alias : I particularly liked making mega corps with a theme and having everyone pick a name based on the theme.
Are You a Member of any Group in TW : Never needed to join any Groups
Helpers / Programs Used : Used TWHelper not exclusively but close enough
Awards / Recognition Received I won a 10x CDROM drive for some TW BBS 30-day Toournament in New Jersey ... wish I could remember the name
Rankings of Maverick Epicenter's Rankings : 5 out of 5 Stars
Best Game / Tournament you ever played in : Its been so long and there were so many.  Suffice to say anytime you get Hosem, Monday, Greycastle, Reza, Jr Sample, Astrocreep, Ripclaw , Galactic Overlord and the others at Stardock BBS in a game, no matter who is teamed with who, its going to be a fun and interesting game. Then again, who can forget the game on Stardock where we did the TW draft...
Tournaments
( Major / Minor )
Came out of retirement to play in BOTE '98 to head up a team from Stardock BBS.  We put forth a good effort but lost.
Best Corp. you were ever  been On : Monday, Hosem, and Reza as my blues and Astrocreep, Greycastle and myself as the reds.  With that kind of team, everyone knew their job and did it well.  I never had to micro-manage anything I can assure you.
How you Play Good : Bah!  I know how to play good but most of the time choose not to.  I guess I am just allergic to poverty.
How you Play Evil : Here's my best advice: MAKE EVERY TURN COUNT.  Don't run around chasing newbies when you could be making money, that's what mines are for. Don't run around chasing other reds when you could be making money, that's what your blues are for.  Don't run around chasing blues, they have bigger ships than you.  Make more money than anyone else in the game and give it to your bloodthirsty blues.  The team that uses their turns the most efficiently has the upper hand.
BBS/Servers that you like the Most: Stardock BBS (bbs.paul.com)
Your feelings on being a player or CEO in games Anyone can make play evil and all but the most ignorant can make loads of money.  I could lead raids when I had to and I definitely made the money to fund them, but in my opinion, my greatest achievement was the use of my diplomacy skills to get everyone (whether they played with me before or not) to see the strategy I envisioned for that particular game and then work together to make it happen.  Sometimes I worked with people who didn't get along with each other, or with people who thought
they knew better, but in the end, leading them to victory made it seem even sweeter.
What influenced your style of play or helped you become the great player that you are Before Stardock.BBS went to the internet, it was a local BBS.  Its you, Chaos, and Reza on a team and your only competition is Flinx on one team and Monday, Greycastle, and Jr Sample on another.  When you learn to play with the best, it rubs off.
Trick or Suggestion can you give to help other TW players: Know what your opponents like to do and guard against it.  Know the tricks of the trade (like Am-Trak and SDT) and prepare yourself.  Know what your teams strengths and play them up.  Know what your teams weaknesses and mitigate the risk.  And most importantly, use your turns wisely or you hamper your chances of winning before you even get started.
Your funniest TW moment or Disaster : Chaos had taken many of our forces from one of our planets in an effort to hunt down Monday with a fully loaded Interdictor Cruiser one evening whilest Reza and I were away.  In the end, Monday abused my corpmate and left poor Chaos in a pod.  The next day, Monday logged on and proceeded to my home bubble on a little raid of his own.  With depleted defenses, we stood no chance.  I cleverly hid on my L4 and cowered as I watched Monday methodically munch through what was left of my defenses.  When the dust settled, he killed all the planets he didnt want and twarped my L4 to his bubble.  Unbeknownst to him, though, I was still on my planet, just not in the citadel where he could see me.  Shortly after he left the zone, I reclaimed my planet and hopped out of there to a new safe place... You should hear Monday tell his side of the story.  It just cracks me up!  I just wish I could have been there to see his face when
he realized he had misplaced his new planet!  Oh the horrible words he unleashed just for me!
Anything else you might want to add : I will see you all again when they make a graphical Tradewars game something along the lines of Everquest.
