| First Name : | James |
| When did you start Playing Tradewars : | 1994 on a local BBS that i dialed up to. One person at a time could play. |
| How Long have you Played Tradewars : | I guess it would be the last year that I really started playing Tradewars. Sure it may look like I have been playing since 1994, so thats what 6 years experience. But I didn't really learn the game, I just puttered around . But I guess you can say I have played TW for 2-3 years. |
| Alias Used in the Game : | Well, as some of you may know, I go by Tweety. I don't really remember when I picked Tweety as my main handle for tradewars. Anyway, I have played as the following: Wkyote and Worf. The handles Wkyote and Worf I used a long time ago on a BBS called Infoserve. It was the first multi-player tradewars game I ever played in before. My uncle introduced me to tradewars when he started playing. I then started dialing in and playing with him on Infoserve. it was long distance for me, but iI had a special service allowing my calls to be routed through a company to give me local access. Then I found the telnet tradewars games ;-) Mainly a place called MudWars or soemthing like that. they had a tradewars game, but then shut down due to too many dupers. I then moved to Total Eclipse, where I just puttered around in games. This is where I was given a chance by Space Ghost to join Boo! inc. I have lots of stuff I could add, but this is just the section for Aliases i have used before. I guess I put stuff I shouldn't of here LOL |
| How I Choose my Alias : | I chose my alias Tweety because I was given Tweety floor mats for my first car from my parents. I just thought I would stick with it. It makes me sound like I'm weak and not a threat. grin |
| Are You a Member of any Group in TW ( If Yes , can you play with other teams ) : | Yes, I'm a member of Boo! inc. I maintain the corp website at http://www.booinc.com Space Ghost was the one who recruited me to start playing for Boo! inc. I guess he watched me play, and seen that I came in everyday and ran my turns. I was surprised to be asked to join a corporation, and jumped at the chance. I don't see why I can't play for any other team, but I don't see the point in abandoning a awesome group of players. I'd rather stick it out with the team. I'm a team player. |
| Tournaments ( Major / Minor ) |
BOTE '00, WTC '00, HHT '99, HHT '00 and maybe some more that i can't remember. |
| Name 3-5 players you like to corp with in a game ? | Space Ghost (he let me in Boo! inc. an awesome guy), Kavanagh (an awesome blue), Medusa (she is great, I haven't played with her long. but i'm glad she is back), Soy (he is a good guy, sometimes lacks dedication I think.), KypDurron (oh yea, I like playing with this guy. We had a blast in HHT '00 while we were alive), Adomma (he is great to play with too), JackBox, Naz, geeze way too many to think of. |
| What Playing style do you prefer ( blue/red .. aggressive/passive ) ? | I like to play RED. When I'm red, I feel that I am more passive. I never have the best ship to attack, so i don't take chances. Unless I have a L4 and a photon ship. Then watch out. I will run my turns then have fun after! Don't ever let go BLUE!! I love to attack players, which causes me to reduce our corp assets. This isn't good. I played BLUE in BOTE for a while and I kept dieing because i was too aggressive. I knew my script could beat any blockade. Well Prestone started making traps for me and anticipating where I would hit and he would be sitting at the next stop to nail me. |
| What players influenced your style of playing (mentors/Opponents) | What players influenced my playing style. Hmm, I guess I would first have to give credit to KypDurron who I played with a while ago. I think it was at Total Eclipse. This was when i was first starting out. He taught me how conserve turns playing evil. I learned a lot from him. I would also like to like to thank Space Ghost for giving me a shot. Without Space Ghost, I wouldn't of had the chance to learn the tricks of the trade as you might say. Space Ghosts playing style allowed me to start building my own scripts. Now I build scripts for Space Ghost. Kavanagh started me out with scripts. He got me to start using a terminal program, Telix I beleive. This is where I started playing with scripts. Space introduced me to QModem Pro. Geeze, you can't pull me away from it now. Although, it isn't perfect. But i try and find ways to make scripts work. I think Space Ghost was the one to brought the killer out of me. I think it all started on the first day of BOTE '00. He put me on kill duty probably half the day and I had a blast blowing away players. We had a really nice killing day. I then used that aggression in WTC and had a blast playing against Guardian and company. Oh I can't forget Attila, he taught me that organization is the key to success. |
| Helpers / Programs Used : | I don't use helpers, maybe on the odd occasion i may use TwarWin to pair port trade. Helpers like TwarWin, ATTAC and Swath, I just don't trust. I have had horrible times with helpers, the scripts would go wild and through me accross the universe. I now build all my own evil scripts using QModem Pro. I'm looking into SWATH which allows scripts built in Java, but i'm not totally impressed at the present time. I'm waiting for more classes that allow me to manage the lines of text coming in. So for now, I am sticking with QModem Pro. |
| Awards / Recognition Received | Nope, I don't have any recognition of winning anything yet except for 2nd place in WTC '00. But I wasn't even on my orignal corporation. USO '01 will be ours. We want it bad. Boo! inc. will fight until our last breath if we have to. |

| Anything else you might want to add : | Make sure you have a team where everyone shows up and runs their turns everyday. Without dedication you won't win. Reds make cash, Blues help reds and build planets. Most importantly, assemble your team according to the style of the game. If you have a 5 death limit game, you will want a few killers. You will also want a couple REDS to supply the killers and the builders. Have no less than 2 evils at the start of the game. This allows the evils to exchange busts.
