Playing Good and Getting Commission
- If your not working with an evil who will let
you capture their ship for your commission, post on them in the police station . WARNING! If you post
then capture their ship, you won't get your money back. You have to destroy
their ship to get the bounty credits back. This was changed not too long
ago.
- When your H has a citadel, put a transporter on
it. After you build up a good ore base, colonize through the transporter.
(see MISCELLANEA:TRANSPORTERS)
- When starting your planets, keep in mind you will
need an area you can expand.
- If you need a good defense for one specific sector,
sit in a tholian with maxed figs and shields. This would be better than
sitting in a maxed interdictor cruiser. (see MISCELLANEOUS
:THOLIANS)
- Your 3 most important planets:
Class
L--your capitol planet because it upgrades quicker than any planet in the
game.
Class O--your money maker.
Class H--your defensive/offensive
assault planet.
Try
to upgrade at least 1 of each of these planets first or second day of the game.
- Keep you qcannons turned down low. After they
loose so much ore, the cannons will dampen and your cannon will not fire.
I like to keep mine at around 5% sector level, 7% atmospheric level.
- Don't leave trails of fighters down the tunnel
of your sector. It's like leading someone to right where you are. (see
MISCELLANEA:DEPLOYED FIGHTERS)
- Build lots of xBx ports! You'll need a large area
for the ports. Build around 25-30 of them. If you have a good port regen,
you'll be making hella money.
- If your port regen sucks, take your level 4 O
out and ptrade at random ports. Get in a 2 turn per warp ship and tag xBx
ports with good percentages. Try to keep them close to each other to make
sure you don't waste too much ore.
- Do not sell ore on ptrading runs! You need ore
to drive your planets! You never can have too much ore.
- To check for one ways,
put the mouth of your prospective sector on your avoids, then try to plot
a course to the dead end of the sector. If it says you cannot plot a course
you most likely don't have any one ways. Use your course plotter to check
from a few locations tho.
- Keep your exp under 1,000 as long as possible.
You want to be able to sit safely in fed space. To loose
half your experience without dying, go to the underground. (see
MISCELLANEOUS: LOOSING 1/2 EXP W/O DYING)
